Avi Benmordechai, LMSW is a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in trauma, depression, phobias, and anxiety. He received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Long Island University and his Bachelor's degree from Touro College. Additionally, Avi is a certified hypnotherapist and uses a specific skill set to help individuals stop negative or unwanted behaviors. Prior to opening his practice, Avi worked with children, adults, couples, families, seniors, and groups from various backgrounds and life challenges. In sessions, Avi implements Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy, Sand Therapy, Play Therapy & Pet Therapy. Avi has a variety of trained therapy animals in his practice which helps individuals feel calm while talking about painful life experiences. Animals therapy is scientifically proven to help individuals reduce blood pressure; promote physical healing; reduce anxiety, fatigue, depression; and provide emotional support.
