OKclarity Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what personally identifiable information you can share with us on this website, (the “Site”), how that information is stored, how we use that information, and what information other members can see when they use the Site.

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “Personally Identifiable Information” means any information that, by itself or in combination with other information, identifies or can reasonably be used to identify an individual, such as their name, email address, telephone number, address, or date of birth. Personally Identifiable Information does not include information that is anonymized, or publicly available information that has not been combined with non-public Personally Identifiable Information.

When you sign up for or use OKclarity, we ask you to confirm that you have read and agree to our Privacy Policy. This means that by submitting Personally Identifiable Information and other information to the Site, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of such information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

Generally, you may browse the Site and/or our applications without providing any Personally Identifiable Information. However, we ask that you provide information at various times and locations through the Site.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Information you store on your Profile:

We collect information you provide when you create an OKclarity account, including your username and email address. We will also collect any optional information you may choose to provide (i.e. full name, address, phone number, etc.).

Why do we ask you for certain types of information?

Health conditions and appropriate actions often depend on your age group, geography, and gender. This data helps us to provide you with a personalized online health experience.

How do we use your information?

We will use your information only for the following purposes:

  • to provide, improve and create new services by OKclarity;
  • to respond to your inquiries and to send you administrative communications about the Site;
  • to obtain your feedback about the Site and OKclarity’s services,
  • to send you secure electronic messages and personalized emails, including news, announcements, reminders and opportunities from OKclarity concerning your health and wellness goals and to present you with personalized, relevant information
  • to detect and defend against fraud and other threats to the Site and our users, and
  • to administer your account


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms:

When visitors contact us via the contact forms on the website, we may collect some data like the visitors IP address, browser user agent and referring pages.


Our Site and/or Apps are not intended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. No one under age 18 may provide any information to us through the Site. We do not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information from individuals under 18. If you are under 18, do not access, use, or provide any information on the Site or on or through any of its features. If we learn we have collected or received Personally Identifiable Information from an individual under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about an individual under 18, please contact us.


A “cookie” is a data element that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your system. We use different kinds of cookies on the Site.

If you leave a comment on our Site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this Site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

Third- Party Sites:

Our Site may contain links to other third-party sites. When you click on one of these links you are visiting a website operated by someone other than OKclarity, and the operator of that website may have different privacy policies. OKclarity is not responsible for the individual privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to investigate the privacy policies of these third-party operators.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.


We use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel & Linkedin Audience tracking to get a better understanding of how visitors interact with the website.

Who we share your data with

We will not share user data with anyone. In some situations we may share Anonymized or obfuscated data (not names, email addresses or other private data) with providers to better serve our users.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
