Why Caren Redlich chose to be in the helping profession

Welcome to my practice! While working a previous career in HR, I realized I wasn't satisfied. I didn't feel as though I was helping enough. So, I went back to school and I graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work in 1991. My clients are 18-96 yrs old and are mostly women who struggle with depression, anxiety, or were traumatized from having experienced or witnessed frightening incidents or accidents. I will also help you develop coping skills for work-related stress, relationship issues, eldercare issues, and grief and loss.

In addition to psychotherapy, I refer home care aides to seniors who need personal care or just companionship. I also teach classes for the 55+ community on preventing cognitive decline and fall prevention. I offer this service to independent living and assisted living facilities as well as other senior residences at their clubhouses.

Caren Redlich's approach

The therapeutic techniques and modalities I employ in my treatment approach include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. With my extensive experience and specialized training across these diverse modalities, I possess the ability to flexibly tailor my approach to suit the unique needs and circumstances of each individual client. This adaptability enables me to address a wide range of challenges that my clients may be facing, providing them with a comprehensive toolkit for overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals. My therapeutic stance is firmly anchored in solutions and goals, ensuring that our collaborative journey focuses on practical strategies and tangible outcomes that align with your specific needs and aspirations.

Caren Redlich's experience working with the Jewish community

My professional journey has been deeply intertwined with the Jewish community, allowing me to truly grasp its intricacies. I've had the privilege of working within a Jewish mental health clinic, which provided me with invaluable insights into the dynamics that define this community. This experience has enhanced my sensitivity and understanding of the distinct issues individuals within this community encounter. It's my commitment to channel this understanding into a tailored approach that genuinely speaks to the needs of those I serve.
