    • Wow, this is a really informative piece! I commend you for your fierce determination to keep to it! I also hate it when my therapist sticks to the therapy hour. I found the end of your article (where clients try to find creative ways to extend the session) to be comical.

    • Wow, I love this! It’s so interesting. I do journal and write out my feelings, but I’m wondering which of the above methods can be used outside of session. I do journaling for myself, not for homework.

    • I write everything down to help me remember or just to get my feelings out I love the journaling method but I never though about trying this method for my anxiety which I am going to try and see if it helps me.

    • Wow! Thank you so much! I was that child that you described. So painful yet so validating. I came into therapy singing my parents praises, until the wool was pulled away from my eyes. The sheer bleeding pain of all the neglect and abuse that I went through, It is a few years later and I am still struggling and trying to heal from all this….

    • Thank you for a beautifully written article. This is such a true concept and many people don’t even realize it.

Our roles as adults as spouses , parents and individuals is to make sure what we bring to our loved ones is our best emotional health and we owe a responsibility to take care of all our traumas no matter where they stem from
