Jewish Trauma Specialist in NY, FL, and Israel
With over 25 years of experience in the U.S. and Israel, my therapy approach focuses on compassion and respect for my client. I aim to provide meaningful, comprehensive care based on the idea that we all come with our unique history, life views, culture, and values. I embrace the opportunity to work collaboratively with my clients to determine and achieve personalized goals. I wish to create a safe space and a holistic environment where one can feel comfortable and grow.
Considered a trauma specialist, I am trauma trained and have comprehensive experience with acute and complex trauma, abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological first aid.
I work with children, adolescents, and adult populations, families, and couples.
Although my primary treatment frame is cognitive therapy, I am a firm believer in holistic modalities. I incorporate Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness in counseling.
Living abroad has brought the opportunity to have worked in multiple cultural contexts. These opportunities, combined with theoretical knowledge have enriched my understanding of the complex nature of trauma (direct, acute, and post) and its life-long effects, particularly with vulnerable populations. I have experience working with foster care and on the front lines of war zones. I have also worked with the incarcerated and those with severe mental illnesses, which has inspired me to go beyond acute contexts and explore psychotherapeutic settings.
Counseling sessions are also offered in Hebrew.
